R.E.M.的名曲〈Losing My Religion〉被通常被視為親右派的美國電視新聞網Fox News（福斯新聞網）用於民主黨全國大會的報導中。立場左傾的R.E.M.在美國時間6日透過唱片公司華納唱片發表聲明，表示福斯新聞網並未取得使用歌曲的授權，要求他們停止在報導中使用該歌曲。
主唱Michael Stipe說：「我們並不苟同他們頻道浮誇的報導方式。我們的音樂不該出現在那邊。」
